Top Ten Books That Will Make You Cry

Well, I’m not sure about YOU, but I ended up crying BUCKETS OF TEARS when I read these books. Which is as high an endorsement as I can give. Many of the tears shed over these books were happy tears. Many were the opposite of happy. All were AMAZING. Read these books. Then, please do come crying to me when you’re done. ;)

(NB: Pretty colors!! Because we all need some happiness when talking about gut-wrenching books, right?)

  1. Guh, all the feels for Brandon Sanderson’s The Hero of Ages. It was good, and a nice cap for that arc, but ;_;

    And The Graveyard Book! I would’ve just broke down and started sobbing if it wasn’t for the fact that the walls between my room and my roommate’s was paper thin, lol.

    Great list! (yay for colours :D) My TTT

  2. The only one I’ve read is THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, and DUH. I’ll never read THE BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA–I saw the movie and what happened, and NO. Patrick Ness’s books scare me. And I’m going to cry for INTO THE STILL BLUE?! I was gonna binge read that series!

  3. Fantastic list. I felt emotional when I read The Fault In Our Stars but not enough to make me cry. I’m wondering whether that makes me have a heart of stone. Eek! I can’t wait to read Into The Still Blue and More Than This. Books definitely on my radar!

  4. More Than This did not make me cry, but it definitely got close, & pretty much every other Patrick Ness book has made me cry. A Monster Calls made me cry MULTIPLE times.
    The Deathly Hallows! I bawled.
    I almost listed The Scorpio Races today, but I didn’t *actually* cry when reading it. I got close, though!

  5. I’ve seen the movie Bridge of Terabitiha, what a sad story!
    This song will save your life was very emotional and it touched me.
    The fault in our stars, ahhh </3
    And it's not a surprise that most of the lists I've seen today include Harry Potter. SO many deaths :(

  6. I remember reading Bridge to Terebithia as a kid and crying and kind of being traumatized because a book make me cry. I didn’t cry as much during Into the Still Blue as I expected, thankfully most of my tears were happy or just sad because the series was over!

  7. Bridge to Terabithia! This is the only other list I’ve seen this on, and I’m so glad to find someone else that lost it over that book! And Harry Potter. I love that so many that I follow have HP on their lists as well; makes me feel like I’ve found the right blogs to read;)

    Here’s my list, if you’d like to check it out!
