After a tragic accident leaves her battered, heartbroken, and alone, Scout Donovan would rather hide in dreams than face reality. But things are changing quickly in Scout's life. Soon she's pulled back into the world of Shifters and Seers, with her best friend's fate depending on Scout's ability to protect her. Can Scout pull it together in time to save Talley, or is the past too much to overcome?
Scout is quickly becoming (has become? is she already?!) one of my favorite YA heroines, and I’m really impressed with the direction the author is taking this series. I mean, things started out normal in Destiny Binds – girl meets boy, fun love story ensues, toss in the paranormal elements and call it good – but by the end of that first book you just know that things aren’t going to be what you were expecting back in chapter 4.
Time Mends continues the trend, and then some. Some reviewers of Destiny Binds were lamenting the “love triangle” at the end of the book, but man oh man I hope they continued the series and weren’t put off by what they thought would happen – Blackwell does not like sticking to the predictable. So far, all the normal YA-paranomal-romance elements which I thought were set in stone have all been thrown out the window. I have no idea what is coming next, AND I LOVE IT.
