Feature & Follow Friday (#6)

Alison Can Read Feature & FollowIt’s Feature & Follow Friday! This is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Every week, we post our answers to a weekly question, and get to meet & follow other book bloggers!

This week’s question is: Is there a song that reminds you of a book? Or vice versa? What is the song & the book?

I love hearing a song and having it remind me of a book – especially a book I really enjoyed, and especially when it’s like the whole song was written just to coincide with the book’s characters or message. This happened to me just the other day – I was listening to all of my music on shuffle and this song came on – and it immediately reminded me of Warm Bodies.

“The Adventure”, by Angels and Airwaves.

Lyrics in case you can’t watch/listen to the above….

I wanna have the same last dream again,
the one where I wake up and I’m alive.
Just as the four walls close me within,
my eyes are opened up with pure sunlight.
I’m the first to know, my dearest friends,
even if your hope has burned with time,
anything that’s dead shall be re-grown,
and your vicious pain, your warning sign,
you will be fine.

Hey, oh, here I am,
and here we go, life’s waiting to begin.

Any type of love – it will be shown,
like every single tree reach for the sky.
If you’re gonna fall, I’ll let you know,
that I will pick you up like you for I,
I felt this thing I can’t replace,
Where everyone was working for this goal.
We’re all the children left without a trace,
only to come back, as pure as gold,
To recite this all.

Hey, oh, here I am,
and here we go, life’s waiting to begin.

I can’t live, I can’t breathe unless you do this with me…

Have you read Warm Bodies? Is this not the perfect song?! Gah. So good.

    • I didn’t think I would either, but I kept seeing glowing reviews, and finally decided to pick it up. One of my fav’s now!! :D

      Thanks for stopping by! :)

    • I hope you like it!! The song might be a little up-beat for the darker scenes in the book, but the lyrics fit so perfectly once you know how it all ends.

  1. Nice I like it! And I really want to read Warm Bodies especially since all the hype for the movie came out–which I also want to wait until I read it to watch it! :)

  2. Oy. I’m afraid to read Warm Bodies. Zombies totally freak me out. Vampires, werewolves, and all manner of other undead creatures are okay… but for some reason I just can’t handle zombies. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by my blog this week! New follower on twitter!
