It’s my birthday, and that means presents… for you!

Format: select

Yes, dear reader, today I’m turning 25. So crazy! I‘m not sure if I feel 25 yet, though… What is 25 supposed to feel like, anyway? I have no idea. But I do think this year is going to be a great one. I only started my blog 8 weeks ago, but it’s already been SO much fun. It’s really awesome to feel like I’m doing something with all the books I’d be reading anyway, and getting to interact with other bloggers – making new friends, talking about books we love, and getting excited about new ones – has been the icing on the cake.

I’ll be getting a couple B&N giftcards for my birthday (as usual, lol) – so to say ‘thank you’ for being awesome, I want to share them with YOU, my amazing new followers. (Erm, but only if you’re in the US… :( sorry, I have yet to figure out international shipping options…)

Anyway, since it’s my 25th, I decided to make a list of 25 of my recent- (and not-so-recent) favorites, and let the winner pick from them. I highly recommend these books!! Some of them are older, some are pretty new – and one (The 5th Wave) will be released a couple days after the giveaway ends – I just had to include it because it blew my mind (review coming soon!).

So without further ado, here’s the list…

16101128 13530566 13595639 10798416 17313424
121573651 10756656 11235712 157550251 12432220
11870085 7826215 9361589 334123 10868556
13445306 6644117 9717320 2213661 15827344
28187 11768487 13614844 29396 243272*

*Yeah, Mistborn and Furies of Calderon aren’t actually YA… But it’s my giveaway and I do what I want. ;D (To be fair, they both read like slightly more mature YA a lot of the time, and I think they’d both appeal to fans of YA – like me! ;) )

Finally, a couple of guidelines/notes:

  • US only
  • You can choose one book from the list of 25 above!
  • I will consider giving away a sequel to any of the books listed! (But only if it’s already been released – so, no preorders).
  • I’ll be sending a paperback if available, hardcover if that’s the only option.

  1. Happy Birthday! Canadian girl here who started to enter before seeing it was US only hehe :$ Please disregard my entries ( I was an old follower) Awesome book selection though, Mistborn is DEFINITELY an all time favorite of mine, and Divergent & Percy Jackson were great too :D

I hope you have a fantastic day!!

  2. Happy birthday! :D

I would choose either Raven Boys, Unraveling, or The Fault in our Stars :D

    Thanks for the giveaway!!

  3. Happy Birthday! I like the giveaway idea (25 book choices since you’re turning 25)! If I had to choose one, I’d go with Cinder just because I have heard SO many amazing things about it and feel like I’m the last person on earth to read it. Must fix that!

Hope you have an amazing birthday and an awesome year!

  4. Happy Birthday! 25 is the year I felt like I finally began to understand myself a little bit better. I mean, I had always understood myself fairly well, but I don’t know, it’s hard to explain. They say that your brain isn’t actually fully developed until you’re 25, and I feel like I felt that shift from “adolescent” to “adult.” (And I say this all like it was a long time ago… I’m only a year and a half ahead of you.)

Anyhow, I’d probably pick either The Statistical Probability or The Lightning Thief. But there are a couple others I might consider as well. Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

    • Thank you, Amy! :D That is so funny you mentioned that, because it’s only been in the last few months to a year-or-so that I’ve started to feel the same way – not that I didn’t understand myself before, like you said, but it’s definitely a shift toward feeling more adult/”assertive”(?). I think that’s partly why I started this blog – I wanted to take ownership of my love of YA lit. :) It’s a good feeling!

AWESOME choices, too – I’ve been a loyal fan of Percy Jackson for a long time; new fan of Statistical Probability, but really adored it. :D

  5. Happy birthday Nikki!

I love your blog, and I find it difficult to believe that you’ve only been blogging for eight weeks. It is so well put together and professional that I would’ve guessed you’d been doing it a lot longer than me. You can really tell this is something you’re having a lot of fun with. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to reading what you do next!

The only one I really want to read and don’t already own a copy of is The 5th Wave. My boss just got done reading it and told me, based on the books I recommend to her, that it is right up my alley.

    • Aww! Thank you so much, Niki!! :D

I’m actually really hoping a 5th-wave requester wins this thing – I loved that book so much and would love to send it to the winner. Not that it needs me singing its praises, the hype is pretty huge – but totally justified. And I don’t say that often, lol.

      • You’re welcome. :)
On a rather awkward side note, my boss just brought in an arc of the fifth wave for me to take home (I work at a bookstore, and she’s apparently been holding out on me). Anyway, if the odds are in my favor this time around, I’d like to change my request to Leviathan because I absolutely loved the uglies trilogy…

        • Oh yay!! I’m so glad you get to read it sooner. I hope you enjoy it!

No worries though, if you win you can choose whatever book you’d like, comment-choices notwithstanding :) I just wanted to get a feel for what people were interested in. ;)

  6. Happy birthday, chica! I hope you have a wonderful one and enjoy your 20’s!. :)

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but for international book prizes use The Book Depository. It’s free shipping no matter the price. It can be a $5 book and it’s still free shipping to almost any country. I use them even if it’s a U.S. winner because of the free shipping. Hope that helps!

  7. I will be 25 this year as well and I definitely don’t feel it. But if you figure out how its supposed to feel, please let me know. ;)

As for the giveaway….How can I choose?! My decision would have to come down between Cinder by Marissa Meyer or The Fault in Our Stars by my fellow Hoosier, John Green.

Thank you so much for this awesome giveaway. HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY!!

  8. So many of them I have wanted for a long time, but I would probably go with Warm Bodies or The Fault in Our Stars. Thanks!

  9. First Off HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I will be turning 25 too coming in july. I hope you dont feel as old as I There are so many good picks to choose from but I think I would choice Unraveling because I haven’t read it yet and its on my TBR :D

  10. Happy birthday Nikki! Hope you had an awesome one =)

Btw, please disregard my entry to your giveaway, only realised after the fact that it’s US only ;) Awesome giveaway though! =)

  11. Happy B-DAY! XD

Wow! A lot of these books are on my handwritten list. The books on my list of to-reads are the “The Fifth Wave,” “The Art of Wishing,” “The Name of the Star,” “The Archived,” “Unraveling,” “Mistborn,” “Angelfall,” and “Let the Sky Fall.” So many good books, I can’t decided on which one I want the most.

  12. Happy Birthday! erm I thought this was an INT giveaway… it was certainly mentioned INT as long as TBD ships to you on the Rafflecopter terms and conditions.. But if it’s not, guess my entries don’t counts..:(
